West Jet WARR Fundraiser - Calgary, AB - April 25th, 2009

We just returned from an amazing WARR Fundraiser in Calgary and to say we had a great time would be an understatement!! The hospitality shown by our Westjet friends was exceptional! The entire evening was arranged by Colleen Devlin, Michelle, Kelly and her WARR Committee at Westjet Airlines- What an evening!! Cowboys, “the most fun you can have with your boots on” Bar & Lounge certainly lived up to it’s name! About 200 people were in attendance and we had a chance to speak about WARR-09 and show a special video presentation on Hangzhou on all the screens. A wonderful Chinese Cultural group put on a typical Oriental show for us throughout the evening and of course, Colleen arrange some fun races (like running with an raw egg, held only with chopsticks, up the dance floor, while downing a beer along the way). We laughed so much, it hurt!!
In attendance was Ben Lee, Sales Mgr. (Canada) for China Eastern Airlines, his Sales Assistant, Francoll Wang, along with Anton Cheng, Tinbo Travel Service- Ottawa; and myself. We explained the plans in store for the WARR09 participants, and talked about the ‘Special fares’ offered by our Sponsoring Airline, China Eastern, including the fact that these fares were ‘Positive Space’ and included Airliners and non-airliners alike. The Video presentation was produced by our friend and fellow ‘crew member’ at Airlinestravelclub, John Watts. Everyone had a fun-filled evening, not to mention ourselves.
